Mother-In-Law

She smites me with vicious words
Telling me it can not be,

I try to explain to her
But she refuses to see,

But that child is my whole world
I can not live without her,

I want her to be my life
Of this I am very sure,

She needs to have her freedom
So she may find who she is,

Constricting us will not help
Like letting out a pop's fizz,

Her future is bright with me
I just wish that you could see,
She is the one I'll marry.

Love

Love

Love is a dangerous thing
With the power that it holds

There is much that it can bring
Depending what you will be,

You can take away their all
To satisfy your own needs

Using their heart till they fall
But this is an evil choice,

You can leave your heart hollow
Giving them no emotion

For long they will not follow
For this is a boring choice,

But the best choice of the three
To cherish them forever

Stay faithful and you will see
How beautiful love can be.

Starting Off With A Haiku

Shadows of a Campfire

Dancing with the fire
Mimicking every flicker
In a midnight waltz

The Start of a New Habit - Blogging

Some things about me: I've written poetry since I started college. I commonly frequent a site called Menewsha where I at times find the chance to chat with other poets like me. I have been a user there since 2007. It is however an avatar forum and not a poetry forum, so poets are far and few. When one is found it is worth the search though. This site has also inspired a few poems itself due to it's resemblance to a poem in my personal opinion. I have also had a dream to some day publish a poetry book; however, the chances of succeeding don't seem very high.

In regards to the creaton of this blog, I will attempt to update at least once a week until I finish college, then attempt to post more often. Most of my posts will be poetry related while some of it may be off topic.

I hope you enjoy the poems that I display here. All poems posted are written by me. If you have any desire to use more than 1 or 2 lines for your own poem please ask.

Salutations =)
